It has been used for centuries by indigenous communities, Ribeirinhos and local families to care for skin and hair — a fixed part of everyday life, passed down over generations.
Our copaíba oil is obtained by gently drilling the trees by hand. The liquid tree resin stays natural, unfiltered and rich in beta-caryophyllene (BCP), one of the most valued constituents in natural cosmetics. Every batch is lab-tested in Germany. (certificate further down)
We at MadeByForest grew up there, and now bring you natural oils straight from the Amazon here in Germany – fairly harvested, responsibly processed, and with genuine knowledge of quality and origin.
Made for today. Made naturally.
Copaiba oil, also known as "Jesuit balsam," is a natural product from the Amazon. It is the resin of the copaiba tree and is extracted by drilling into the tree. The resin is bottled unaltered and pure.
The oil is extracted from the trunk of the copaíba tree without felling the tree. After harvesting, the borehole is sealed, allowing the tree to continue living and be harvested again.
Copaíba oil is traditionally used in skincare. Its characteristic constituent is beta-caryophyllene (BCP) — the marker compound that gives the resin its warm, balsamic character.
We recommend external use only, diluted with a carrier oil. Internal use is not approved in the EU — we respect the traditional use in South America but give no recommendation for it.
Traditionally, there are a multitude of possible applications.
We are currently reviewing which application guidelines we are legally permitted to provide. We will provide further information soon.
Yes, our first batch has already been tested, including for BCP content. The certificate can be viewed above. We are working to ensure these tests are carried out regularly to guarantee the highest quality.
Yes, our oil naturally contains a high level of beta-caryophyllene. This is currently being tested by an independent laboratory. We will share the results and certificates on our website soon.
Yes, harvesting copaiba oil does not harm the rainforest. On the contrary: selling this valuable raw material increases the value of the standing tree, which helps prevent deforestation and provides local people with fair incomes.
Our copaiba oil is sourced directly from the southern Amazon region – without intermediaries. It is pure, sustainably harvested, and supports local communities.
Made by Forest is a young natural cosmetics startup with roots in the Brazilian rainforest. Our products are fair, hand-harvested, and effective – just like we use ourselves. Naturally honest. Modernly conceived. Bridging the gap between worlds and cultures.

Since we are not permitted to provide direct application advice, we recommend relying on traditional and widely available information. More details will follow shortly once our review is complete.
Copaiba oil has a long history of use in skin care, aromatherapy, and wellness products due to its constituents. It is often valued for its soothing and nourishing properties.
Our prices reflect the high quality and fair production conditions. Our direct connection to the Amazon also allows us to offer Copaíba for less than half the price of, for example, doTERRA's Copaíba, which costs over €60 per unit. But most importantly: with every purchase, you support the local people and the protection of the rainforest.
