From where the primeval forest is everyday life

Hello, we are Made by Forest

Anderson, Christoffer and Elisa. Having grown up in the Amazon, we bring the knowledge from there to you in Germany, so that good forest products empower local people and give you real added value here.

The story behind MadeByForest.

Our story begins by the river, in the village, surrounded by greenery.
Chris and Anderson, childhood in an indigenous village,
later teenagers in a small town in the middle of the rainforest.
Ribeirinhos were neighbors and friends
(Ribeirinhos are people living on the banks of the rivers).
Copaíba was everyday life, not a foreign word, not a trend.

Elisa grew up on the edge of the Amazon,
in the middle of South America, where many things intersect.
Indigenous culture, soy, cattle, gold miners,
Everything is close together, often too close.
Our first daughter was born in September 2025.
Family sharpens one's vision, not makes one louder.

We have friends there. Many.
People who collect, weave, harvest, and tell stories.
Made by Forest grew out of these friendships.
A simple question drove us:
How can a fair alternative to the next hectare of pasture be created?
How can a tree remain standing without loss for those who live from the forest?

What we do

We make genuine Amazonian forest products understandable and accessible. We show how they are traditionally understood in Brazil – with terms, practices, and stories – and clarify what we are allowed to say about them in Germany. This way, you get context instead of marketing fog, products with a provenance, and a decision that makes sense.

What we stand for

Friendship, fairness, transparency. Christoffer, Anderson, and Elisa grew up by the river, in the village, in the small town in the rainforest – with close ties to Ribeirinhos and harvesting families. We name names, show routes, publish batch information and analyses. No romanticizing, just clear responsibility towards people and the forest.

What problem will we solve (for you)?

You want to know what's really in it, where it comes from, and how it's perceived locally. You're looking for quality, not chance; guidance, not guesswork; a calm, honest explanation, not empty promises. That's exactly what we deliver: a transparent product plus context that helps you make informed choices.

That's exactly what we're here for.

This is how we work

Direct contact with local partners, fair agreements, small supply chains. Documentation with photos/videos, batch information, laboratory analyses per batch (e.g., GC/GC-MS, density, sensory properties, depending on the product). We explain traditional uses in Brazil – and clearly indicate what can only be discussed here as background information for legal reasons.

Why this matters

When good, clearly explained products are in demand, preservation is more worthwhile than destruction. Demand creates income for local families and makes the standing tree more valuable than the next pasture. Your purchase empowers people, preserves knowledge, and reduces the incentive for deforestation – tangibly and concretely.

Where you can participate

Ask questions, read up on it, try it out. Share your feedback so we can improve. Follow the batch updates, recommend us if you're convinced. That's how a fair alternative grows – from the riverbanks to you – step by step, without grand gestures, but with impact.

You've come to the right place!

What we still have planned:

(Now) Real Forest Products

Copaíba kicks things off – and Jatobá is already live. More extracts from the Amazon will follow, as they are understood and used locally. We explain the cultural context and clarify what we are allowed to call things in Germany.

Highlights

  • Origins with names & stories (Ribeirinhos, collector families)
  • Batch information & analyses per batch
  • Application: traditional understanding (BR) + classification for DE

Planned: Sustainable Amazon expeditions

Visit the places where we harvest and learn – responsibly, on a small scale, with respect for people and nature. Not mass tourism, but genuine encounters.

What you can expect (ideas):

  • River paths, harvest trails, crafts and everyday knowledge
  • Accommodation with local hosts / small lodges
  • Workshops on forest resources, cooking, braiding, stories

Join us: Tell us what interests you – we'll plan small pilot trips.

Planned: Sponsorship & CO₂ sequestration in standing forests

Sponsorships for specific square meters of forest that will remain standing – with socio-economic benefits for the local people. A living tree is more valuable than pastureland.

Principle:

  • Jointly finance protected areas
  • Monitoring & Reports (Photo, Video, Stories)
  • Local income instead of deforestation

Join us: Register now without obligation – we'll get back to you with the first available spaces.
